According to the Jesus Culture website, “Bryan and Katie live to see the earth transform to Heaven’s likeness and for this generation to encounter the real Jesus. They believe that in God’s presence, sickness is healed, prisoners are set free, and minds are restored. Their songs carry hope and life that flow out of every note and lyric.”
In late 2015, Bethel Worship enthusiasts were surprised and pleased to hear Holy Spirit introduced to the mainstream Evangelical Christian public on local Christian music stations. Released as a song cover by Francesca Battistelli, the song spent 15 consecutive weeks at No. 1 and topped 5 radio charts simultaneously in 2015. It was her third consecutive No. 1 from the album, If We’re Honest, following Write Your Story and He Knows My Name (www.francescamusic.com).
Francesca Battistelli was unable to attend the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, which were held Monday, February 15 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. She is soon expecting her third child. Quoted from her website, Francesca responded to this honor by thanking the Torwalts;
"I am so honored and humbled to have been recognized with a Grammy award for Holy Spirit, a song that has meant so much to me,” says Battistelli. “Many thanks to Bryan and Katie Torwalt for writing an amazing song and letting me sing it. I pray God continues to use it to change people’s lives and draw them closer to Himself!"
Facebook responses expressed excitement over the song’s Grammy selection. Spirit-filled Christians are especially thrilled that this Holy Spirit-inviting song will be sung by countless Christians around the world as a result of its cultural popularity. Congratulations are extended not just to Francesca, but to the Torwalts. Their intention to see God’s presence flood our churches will be more fully realized through this song’s success. God has blessed their song-writing efforts, and many people will be blessed as they worship Him by singing this song.
