“You have a voice. Don’t be afraid to speak up.” That’s what the young lady, unknown to us, briefly prophesied to my daughter after church. On the drive home, my teenage daughter told me that she had been feeling invisible with new places and new people as a result of big changes in her life. The word had encouraged her tremendously. This is personal prophecy as it should be. It was gentle, uplifting and kind. Those few words gave her courage, and she began to speak up, and things improved for her when she did.
Sean Bolz is an expert. He’s been doing what he does for a long time, trained and mentored by the best. His vocation as an internationally known Pastor, Evangelist and Prophet all began in his home. His parents were highly intentional about developing his spiritual gifts. He knows what he’s doing. This book, Translating God: Hearing God's Voice For Yourself And The World Around You, tells the story of how he became experienced and skilled at representing God to people.

I felt mentored as I read. For example, Sean tells stories of how he has ministered to strangers, encouraging them in different situations to ask God key questions in their moments of need. He has found that many times, even unbelievers go along with the suggestion, and are amazed to hear God answer back to their hearts and minds with relevant and loving responses. His use of personal prophesy in Evangelism is remarkable and simple to do. It changes lives.
Few of us could read this book without being challenged and encouraged.
Sean Bolz is a great story teller, and he has been used of God to impact many individual lives through one-on-one conversations. The book is engaging, challenging and convicting. Some people prophesy exactly what they hear or see from the Holy Spirit and don’t run it through a filter that guides prayer with discretion. This book is full of Scriptural examples of the principles that he teaches to empower each of us in our personal ministries.
My prayer is that this book gets into the hands, or into the headphones, of many budding and experienced prophetic people. Few of us could read this book without being challenged and encouraged. It would benefit most members of any church altar prayer team. If you are an intercessor, if you pray one-on-one for people, or if you want to see the people around you impacted more by your prayers for or with them, consider reading this book. Then pass it around. The fruit of our Kingdom labors will flourish in a new and profound way.
“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”–Colossians 3:14

“Prophecy from others should never violate our will or ability to have choices.”
“Since we are all able to hear from God for ourselves, our goal in hearing from God for each other is to encourage that love relationship and affirm that great connection.”
“Our ability to manifest spiritual fruit in the prophetic depends on our union to the Holy Spirit, not our gifts or skill level. Real gifting that builds the kingdom comes from deep love.”
