1. Make a small photo album of your favorite photos.
Download some of those hundreds of photos on your phone and print them out. Little photo albums are readily available. Choose photos of shared good times and fun selfies. Narrate the photos with little captions on each page.
2. Make cookies decorated with personal messages.
Buy refrigerator cookies and bake them, then frost and decorate each cookie with premade frosting tubes. Write words or messages on each cookie and arrange them on a plate.
3. Make a Date Night Box.
Buy a romantic DVD, microwave or packaged popcorn or snacks, add hot cocoa or latte mixes or tea, and put all of the items in a box with a fleece throw blanket. There's no need to go out for a date night. Enjoy a night of cuddling and being cozy together.
4. Turn your favorite photo of you together into a jigsaw puzzle.
These can be ordered at most photo processing stores or online. Make the puzzle together. This is especially great for beloved grandparents as a gift from children.
5. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
Make a list of things that you love about the person, or make a list of a dozen or so of your best memories together or things you like to do together. Write on decorative stationary and leave the list tacked on the refrigerator or your beloved’s door.
6. Make a “Want To Do Together” scrapbook.
Show your desire for a shared future. Cut out photos from magazines or find photos online and make a scrapbook of things that you would like to do together when time, opportunity and/or finances allow. Be sure to include captions.
7. Write an old-fashioned love letter.
Use beautiful stationary and write a classic love letter in your best handwriting. Scent the letter as desired. Mail the letter in plenty of time to arrive before a significant date, February 14th, for example.
Taking the time to thoughtfully personalize your gift will create a memory and a keepsake. Some gifts outlast chocolates or flowers. These gifts will deeply touch your loved ones with the creative expression of your affection for them.
